USA Swimming Scholastic All-American Maddie Reynolds oral to South Carolina

NEW COMMITMENT: The University of South Carolina has scored a new verbal commitment for the 2025-2026 season and beyond during the Junior National qualifier Maddie Reynolds from Windermere, Florida.

She will participate Tori Abruzzo in Columbia as a member of the Gamecocks’ Class of 2029.

About her efforts she said:

“I am beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of South Carolina! I would like to thank my family, friends, teammates and coaches for helping me get to this point. A special thank you to the South Carolina coaches for this amazing opportunity! I can not wait! GO GAME COCKS!”

Reynolds does her club swimming with Laker Swimming and finished in the 50 meters at the NCSA Spring Championships after placing third in that event at the Florida Spring Senior Championships. She was also a four-time finalist at Southern Zone Seniors.

She also represents Puerto Rico internationally. She recently competed at the Puerto Rico International Open, where she defended her title in the 100-meter back and also finished third in both the 50-meter back and 200-meter back.

Her best times include:

  • 50 free – 23.87
  • 100 free – 50.96
  • 200 free – 1:49.48
  • 100 back – 56.32

Reynolds is currently a junior at Windermere High School and is a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American. She finished fourth in both the 100 back and 100 free at the 2023 Florida 4A State Championships after placing sixth in the 100 back at the state meet during her sophomore season.
