Updated ACC Baseball Standings: 5/12

Another weekend of ACC Basketball is in the books and there is only one weekend left before the ACC Tournament begins.

In one of the conference’s most important series of the weekend, Georgia Tech defeated No. 9 Duke and helped strengthen their case to make the NCAA Tournament. Aside from their series loss to Clemson, Georgia Tech has been one of the hottest teams in the ACC and continues to enter the ACC Tournament with momentum.

Clemson has had a strong hold on first place in the ACC Atlantic for most of the season, but they were swept by Wake Forest, leaving room for other teams to try and take the top spot from them.

Florida State got that chance, but lost their weekend series against Pitt, the last-place team in the ACC Coastal. It was a missed opportunity for the Seminoles.

NC State earned a big win over Virginia and they remain within striking distance of first place in the ACC Atlantic.

North Carolina can claim to be the best team in the ACC after a series sweep over Louisville and with Clemson’s sweep of Wake Forest.

Notre Dame and Boston College both played non-conference series this weekend.

Virginia Tech lost their series against Miami, but they remain in 4th place in the ACC Coastal.

Next week is the last week of the regular season and there are some big series scheduled. Georgia Tech will take on Florida State, North Carolina will take on Duke, Virginia Tech will take on Virginia and Wake Forest will take on NC State.
