There will be a dog wash fundraiser in Shreveport in May

SHREVEPORT, LA – If you’re like me, you might have trouble giving your K-9 friends a bath when the time comes. My grandpuppy Beau is a big boy and I have to wash him outside with the water hose. This process involves keeping him on a leash, otherwise he will flee.

This is a difficult process. But this month I get a break because the Humane Society of Northwest Louisiana is hosting a dog wash at Marilynn’s Place on Fern Avenue.

The Humane Society of Northwest Louisiana is staffed almost entirely by volunteers. There are no employees there who “just need a job” and are looking for a salary. Everyone who works does it because he loves dogs.

The Humane Society hosts several fundraisers throughout the year to keep the shelter open and stocked to care for all the dogs they take in. They organize bingo events and much more.

But one of the biggest events of the year for the group is the Dog Wash event. It’s happening this month at Marilynn’s Place on Fern Avenue.

Even if your beloved dog is an indoor pet, what dog can’t stand a good scrubbing? And imagine not having to do it! So not only do you get a spotless dog, you also help raise money for a very good cause. The Humane Society is a no-kill shelter in Shreveport.

When is the dog wash

The Dog Wash will be held on Sunday, May 19 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. You are encouraged to make a donation of at least $10 for the great dog wash.

The Christmas event will be here before you know it

Another fun event closer to Christmas is to have your dog’s picture taken with Santa. Makes great Christmas cards! More details about that soon.
