Rashee Rice is in even more trouble for alleged assault at a nightclub

Rashee Rice becomes way too familiar with the Dallas Police Department.

The Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver, who already faces eight charges stemming from a March car crash, is now under investigation for “allegedly punching a photographer at a Dallas club early Monday,” police sources quoted as saying. by WFAA.

Police are recruiting witnesses to determine what happened early Monday morning at Lit Kitchen & Lounge in Dallas. For now, Rice is simply the subject of an investigation. It is not clear whether there will also be costs associated with this.

Rice has not been suspended by the NFL as legal proceedings unfold over his role in a multi-vehicle crash in Dallas in March. Two sports cars owned or rented by Rice were reportedly street racing when they caused a traffic jam on the highway. Several people were injured and one person was sent to hospital.

Police determined Rice was the driver of one of those vehicles and charged him with six counts of collision involving bodily injury and one count of collision involving serious bodily injury and aggravated assault.

An alleged attack on a nightclub may be the least of his worries right now. Rice faces a serious prison sentence on these charges. And there can be professional consequences too.

While the NFL has not intervened, they have the right to suspend Rice under the league’s personal conduct policy. Charges stemming from a second incident in Dallas would not help his case at all.

Rice was a key player for the Chiefs during their Super Bowl run and was expected to lead the receiving corps as Kansas City competes for a three-peat next season. These legal issues put his future in jeopardy.
