2025 Four-star DB Trystan Haynes commits to Oklahoma

Brent Venables and the Oklahoma Sooners have added a new name to the Class of 2025 with the addition of four-star defenseman Trystan Haynes.

Haynes, a 6-foot-1 cornerback from Oklahoma, was a hot commodity coming out of high school and chose the Sooners over offers from 20 different programs.

The Sooners beat out a number of impressive programs to land the Oklahoma native, including Alabama, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Georgia, Baylor, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Notre Dame, Oklahoma State, TCU and more.

Coming out of Carl Albert High School in the class of 2025, Haynes is listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index and is ranked 119th in the nation. He also checks in as the 12th player at his position and the third player in the state of Oklahoma.

Haynes spoke with 247Sports’ Collin Kennedy about his recruitment and what the deciding factor in the process was. He said, “Just to be able to stay home and represent my state, and go out and compete with my Carl Albert teammates, and be able to put Oklahoma on the map as a national power as we compete in the SEC. It especially did that for me.”

Haynes and the rest of the future Sooners will get the chance to see their 2024 team take the field for the first time on Friday, August 30, against the Temple Owls.
