Government Evers celebrates Teacher Appreciation Week

MADISON, Wis. (CBS 58) – Gov. Tony Evers marked National Teacher Appreciation Week by sharing a video message with Wisconsinites on Tuesday, May 7, celebrating the role of educators.

He declared May 6-10 as Teacher Appreciation Week in Wisconsin, highlighting the dedication of teachers statewide.

In his message, Evers noted, “I know firsthand that there is no limit to the lengths our teachers and staff will go to help children become the best they can be, both inside and outside the classroom.” He also expressed his gratitude to the teachers, emphasizing: “In my book, you are heroes – not just to me, but to the children, loved ones and families you help support.”

Evers also expressed his commitment to providing resources to educators, saying, “As governor, a big part of my job is supporting you and your good work.”
