Minden area hit by another tornado Monday evening

MINDEN, Iowa (WOWT) – A round of severe storms brought heavy rain, wind and hail to parts of Iowa and Nebraska Monday evening.

WOWT reports that there were some very quickly developing tornadoes. One appears to have hit the Minden area, which is still recovering after a tornado caused major damage there late last month.

A tornado debris signature appeared on radar just after 9 p.m. It appears a high-speed tornado formed overnight and caused some damage along the road east of Minden heading northeast into the Shelby area.

Several power poles and lines are down and some homes have reported damage. This would be just east of the track of the EF-3 tornado that passed through this area on April 26.

Here’s a drone video showing the aftermath of that previous storm:

In addition to the storms that hit parts of Iowa and Nebraska, at least one city in Oklahoma also suffered major damage Monday evening.
